I Thought Awards Season Was Over...

But it's not because bloggers never stop giving awards! I have been awarded a few over the past weeks and I wanted to acknowledge those thoughtful bloggers!

First, thank you lovelies for the awards. It makes me so happy to know that somebody besides myself likes my blog!

Second, if you haven't checked these blogs out yet then go immediately! They are all fabulous bloggers!

Instead of writing five/seven facts for each award (as you are suppose to do) I am just going to write five facts total. I am such a rebel!

1. I love American History. Ever since the 5th grade it has been my favorite subject. I guess when you have a great teacher like I did it influences you for life. Specifically I love the Revolutionary War/Founding Fathers Era (1760s- 1780s).
2. I love puns/play on words! I tend to make a lot of chessy jokes so naturally I would love puns. Usually I will say "pun intended" because I mean to say them.
3. If there is something on the menu with avocado/guauamole, I will most likely be ordering it when at a restaurant.
4. I would love to (and plan on someday) taking a cross country road trip. I love America and think this country is amazing. I would totally stop at all the crazy cheesy tourtist traps along the way (Here I come biggest ball of twine!). This country is so big and diverse, I am positive it would be a great experience.
5. Five years ago I thought I would be in a very different place in my life than I am at now. I thought I would have completed a different path upon graduating from grad school. The journey I have taken to get to where I am today was difficult at times and I would have changed a couple of things but for the most part I am thankful that I am where I am. I have grown from my experiences and have learned a lot about myself and the "real world".

Also, I am just going to pass each award along to one blogger. Again I am not playing by the rules of the awards and usually I am such a rules girl. ("Live by the rules, die by the rules"- The Skulls). I hope the blogging police don't come to get me. I know there are so many amazing blogs out there and some of the blogs I award may have already recevied the award but I just wanted my readers to check out these blogs if you haven't already. I'm sure you will love them as much as I do.

1. On the wall in my bedroom I still have a poster up that I hung when I was 14. It is a poster for Reef sandals with a female surfer (Lisa Anderson) riding this beautiful blue wave. I got it while I was in Hawaii for a band field trip in high school. The poster is just so pretty that I can't take it down.
2. Related to that, I went through a period where everything I owned was Roxy. Clothes, accessories, you name it I had it. I still have a few select items that I love and can't part with but my days of dressing like a California surfer girl are over.
3. I am notorious for starting craft projects but not finishing them.
4. I am looking for to coloring eggs for Easter. I want to try the Glitter egg decorating kit.
5. I went to exactly one basketball game during college. It wasn't really a big sport but the school had built this nice new arena my last year there and I wish I had gone to a game in the old arena and more in the new one.
6. One of my best purchases I ever made was buying a water case for my digital camera. I used it several different trips and I love taking pictures underwater while snorkeling.
7. I wish Starbucks would bring back the banana Frappuccino they had in the summer a few years ago. I anxiously wait each summer to see if they will bring it back.

Pre-Valentine's Day Fun and Another Blog Award!

I participated 2 exchanges recently. The first was Hopsy's Pink Swap and the other was the Be Mine Valentine Exchange hosted by Liv.

For the Pink Swap I was matched up with Brina from Baltimore.

She got me Kate Spade Notepads!!!!, a Pink Monthly Planner, pretty Crane & Co. notecards (that come with matching pink envelopes), and a gift set from The Body Shop of Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Lotion, Shower Gel, and a Bath Poof. Everything is perfectly pink! So excited to use the notepads!

For the Be Mine Valentine Exchange I was matched up with Monica from Arizona.

I received a picture frame, a candle, pink and white nail polish (perfect for a french mani!), plumeria lotion (which reminds me of Hawaii!), a cute flower pin, candy (especially love the Sweethearts!), Brown Sugar & Fig scented body lotion and spray, and this cute solar dancing flower. It defintely brighten my day!

I also made some cupcakes today. I bought these aluminum heart shaped baking cups.

I went on a crazy frosting shopping spree at Wal-Mart a week or so ago so I had to decorate the cupcakes.

For this award I have to write 7 things about myself:

1. I can't sleep on airplanes regardless of what time or how long the flight is.
2. When I was at college in Los Angeles and I was having a difficult time, I would just get in my car and drive around. I ended up learning how to get around without a map or GPS and discovered how big that "city" truly is.

3. In my junior year of high school I took a weights to fulfill my P.E. requirement. I was one of 4 girls in the class. I actually really enjoyed it and I was in the best shape in my life that year. It was not a big deal at all working out with a bunch of guys because honestly they were too busy working out and I was too busy staring at them working out!

4. My best friend from my childhood lived 14 houses away from me my whole life but we didn't meet each other until the 4th grade through a mutual friend.

5. I lost my first two cell phones I ever had. One at Disneyland and the other at a football game.

6. I've never gotten a speeding ticket but I've gotten plenty of parking tickets.

7. I like to collect pens from hotels.

My first blog award! Another Giveaway!

I received my first blog award yesterday from the lovely Gabriella at Two Peeps and a Pooch!  Thank you, it made me so happy!

1. Who/What inspires you?

 My dad inspires me. He worked hard his whole life to provide for his family and even though he didn't have a lot of opportunities it didn't stop him from achieving a lot.

2.What is your favorite season & why?

I love them all for different reasons but I love Summer. I love the weather, going to the beach, BBQs, and vacations.

3. What are you most looking forward to this year?

Running a 5K at Disneyland in September. I have a ticker for it at the bottom of the blog!

4. If you could write a book about anything, what would it be about?

It would be about what I've learned during job searching and my first job.

5. What is your greatest passion?

Doing what makes me happy and following my heart.

6. If you could change one thing about your life or yourself, what would it be.

I would be a better public speaker. I get so nervous talking in front of crowds.

7. Lastly, what is your favorite novel?

The Great Gatsby.
