Holiday Favorites Link-up : Holiday Playlist

I'm linking up with two of my favorite bloggers: Michelle at a little bit of this & that and Lyndsay at SimplyLyndsay.

I actually really LOVE Christmas music so I was super excited when I saw that this would be a topic for the link-up. I may have 3 different Christmas music playlists on my itunes but I wanted to narrow it down to some of my all time favorites for this post. This list has a little bit of everything in my opinion. Classic Christmas songs, Christmas movies songs, and fun 90s pop Christmas songs.

I love N SYNC's Christmas CD! I always listen to it this time of year. Does anybody remember when they did some Christmas special on the Disney Channel way back when they were popular?

Go join up in the Holiday fun and tell us what's on your holiday playlist!

I am seriously in love with this song!

After seeing him on Sunday, this song has been in the rotation.

During our drive to and from Tahoe, we seriously heard the next two songs like 10 times each.

I have been playing Luke Bryan's new album on repeat for the past week during my commutes to and from work. But I also love this Justin Moore song. I love his accent.

Tomorrow, my sister and I are going up to Tahoe to see Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town. So in honor of the show tomorrow, I'm playing some Miranda and LBT.

Link up with Sarah Elizabeth and let us know what you're playing!

Jason Aldean Concert!

Last night, my sister and I headed to Shoreline to see Mr. Jason Aldean. We decided to pay $20 for VIP parking which was the best decision ever. When we went to Tim McGraw it took us an hour to get out of the parking lot, last night it only took us 15 minutes. We got there early enough to catch both opening acts.

First up was Thompson Square!

Next was Clay Walker! I love his song "She Won't Be Lonely Long"

Another reason why we thought it would be a good idea to get the VIP parking was because the show was SOLD OUT! Right before Jason went on stage I looked behind me and this is what I saw...just 22,000 other country fans.

There was this DJ that played right before Jason went on.
He was so good and got the crowd pumped for this guy!

It was a great show! I know some of my pictures look the same but I couldn't decide which one I liked better so I thought I would post both.
And for your viewing pleasure...a little video I shot. It's best if you load the whole video first and then watch it.

Next concert coming up is Mrs. Blake Shelton aka Miranda Lambert in three weeks!

Luke Can Shake It Anytime

I know a lot of you probably watched the CMT Awards last night but I wanted you all to watch this amazing performance by the cutest guy in country music, Luke Bryan. How could you not love this performance? Watching it just makes me so excited to see him on Saturday night! (Note: there is a small ad before the video since I got the video from CMT's website)

The next few days for me should be fun. Tonight I am meeting up with my friends from my old job (the only good thing about that job) for happy hour and dinner in the City. Tomorrow night, I'm going into the City again but this time is for this special acoustic show for Gavin Degraw that one of my favorite radio stations is putting on. Saturday morning is my nephew's first swim meet of the season. Then of course Saturday night is the Luke Bryan/Tim McGraw/The Band Perry concert.

I am totally obsessing over this song right now. I love how unique her voice is.

I just love this song too. I love anything San Francisco related and this is one of my favorite Train songs. All the shots of the city are so pretty in this video.

What I'm Playing Thursday

Quick post tonight! I had a busy day at work. I was actually hardly even in the office. My supervisor and I went to another one of our offices that is about 70 miles away so I spent most of my day in a car. I'm linking up today to share what I have been playing in my car on my commute the past couple days.
Photobucket
I am totally obsessed with Leighton Meester! I love her voice in both of these songs. The first one I was kinda relating to earlier this week so that's why I have been playing it. The second one is such a fun song and just gets me excited that it will be summer soon.
Hope you all had a fabulous day. Can you believe it's Friday already?!

Musicals!

I'm linking up for What I'm Playing Thursday! Click on the buttom and link up too!
Photobucket

Last night my sister and I went to see Rock of Ages. If you haven't heard about it, it's a musical that is set in the 1980s in L.A. on the Sunset Strip. It uses a lot of great 80s rock songs. Constantine from American Idol fame is the lead in this musical but he wasn't performing last night! I was so bummed! I really wanted to see him. But the female lead was amazing! It was a really fun show! If you can, I highly recommending seeing it.

Here are a few of the performances of the Broadway cast. I actually think the touring cast was better.

Here is their Tony performance from 2009. It has a sample of songs. During the show when they sang "Don't Stop Believin'" eveybody went crazy since that is the unofficial song of San Francisco Giants (Journey is from here).

I love this next song! I have a great memory of some of my friends associated with this song and whenever I heard I smile. It was such a great moment in the show with the whole cast.

Tomorrow night, my mama and I are going to see Hairspray. This musical is being put on by a local musical theater group so it won't be Broadway quality like Rock of Ages but I am still looking forward to it. I absolutely loved the movie so I thought I would share some of my favorite songs from the movie. I wanted to put the actual scenes from the movie but they wouldn't let me embed them. :(

I did want to put "Without Love" up here but none of the videos would let me embed them! Boo! Anyways if you haven't heard it go to youtube and check it out. It is such a cute song. Speaking of cute, I am hoping that the guy that plays Link is half as cute as Zac Efron.

Go and link up to share what you are playing this Thursday.

Confession: I hated Country Music

I used to hate country music. This is pretty funny since most of what I listen to now is country. I always thought it was uncool and that the subject of the songs were lame. I grew up listening to hip hop, pop, R&B, rock, alternative, oldies, and even some rap. Basically anything but country.

I remember we were driving home from a trip down to Disneyland and my sister (who is a big country fan) was controlling the radio and I swear the song "What About Now" by Lonestar would play 3 times in an hour. I even made a bad joke saying "what about no?" I was so against listening to anything country.

Then I picked up this promotional cassette with snipets of songs and one of the songs was "Prayin' for Daylight" by Rascal Flatts. I grew to really love that song and would just play it over and over again so that is when my love affair with country music started. I still like to pretend to "hate" it and I'll admit I do not love all country music but I do enjoy a lot of it. My favorites include: Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, and Brooks & Dunn.

I would have never imagined when I was younger that I would go to so many country concerts. One of my favorite concerts ever was Brooks & Dunn's Neon Circus Tour in 2003. Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts opened and it was seriously one of the best concerts I have ever been to and I have been to a lot. I already have tickets to 2 Country concerts this summer and am expecting to buy more.

I thought I would share this since tonight is the ACM awards show and I really can't wait to watch and see who wins! I would have never thought I would be excited to watch a country music awards show but it just goes to show you that you should be open to things.

I'm Playing J.T.

I'm linking up again for What I'm Playing Thursday with Sarah @ Belle in the City!

A lot of times, I like to put my ipod nano on shuffle. For some reason I always get a lot of Justin Timberlake songs whenever I put the ipod on shuffle. I really loved his first album (even though I blame him and it for *N SYNC "breaking up"). Here are some of my favorites from his first album...

I love the style of this song. I wouldn't mine being his senorita.

This is one of my go-to dance songs. It always make me want to get up and move.

I love his voice in this song. Its one of my favorite songs to sing in my car.

I know he's into making movies right now but I really want him to make another album soon.

What are you playing today? Link up and let us know!

What I'm Playing is Jack

Linking Up for What I'm Playing Thursday.

Photobucket

Today I'm playing one of my favorite musicians: Jack Johnson. He's such a cutie, lives in Hawaii, likes to surf, plays the guitar, and cares and the enviroment. What else can you ask for?

When I was in Hawaii for work (yes, work) the restaurant/bar in our hotel had this song on loop so you would hear like 4 times in an hour. It always reminds me of the fun we had there.

I think this video is so funny with Andy Samberg.

Since it's all gloomy and rainy here today, I wanted to see this video since I love the ocean part of it. It looks so beautiful and I wish I was there instead of here right now! And he just looks so cute with Curious George.

What are you playing this Thursday?
